Teacher, Be Still was founded by a couple of everyday teachers with the mission to encourage educators from all walks of life and in all kinds of educational settings. In 2019, Jamie & I decided to host a conference for educators - not one that talked about data or how to make your classroom amazing, but one that focused on the teacher as a person. We filled the day with praise and worship, inspiring and relatable speakers, a hilarious MC (my sister), food, fellowship, and tons of incredible giveaways. It was magical.

As we grew, we started speaking in schools and locations all over Texas, hosted more conferences, and started The Teacher, Be Still Podcast. We also launched The Educators Mercantile - a one of a kind shop full of educator necessities and resources.

The journey was more than we could have ever expected, and serving educators in that capacity was one of the most special times of our lives. As time went on, Jamie had to pivot into mom mode to best take care of her family, and while I tried hard to continue Teacher, Be Still on my own, I felt led in another direction.

Teacher, Be Still forced me into the Bible more than I ever had been before. My love for God turned into an insatiable desire to know Him more and steward His Word well. I realized how much I adore sharing my life’s stories, but more importantly, how much I love teaching women about God’s love, even in the midst of our hardest stories.

I took a leap of faith and found myself pursuing my Masters at Dallas Theological Seminary. I realized quickly that I couldn’t do it all, and taking care of my growing family while earnestly honoring my time in seminary had to be my focus. So, I made the difficult decision to lay Teacher, Be Still down.

This doesn’t mean all of the incredible resources will be gone. The podcast will still remain active for anyone who wants to listen or needs some encouragement as they head into their day. The devotionals and various resources will also be available right here on my website. I hope you share them with the educators in your lives.

I don’t know where the Lord is leading me, but I am doing my best to embrace this season of unknown and simply revel in my time with Him. And truthfully, that’s always been at the heart of Teacher, Be Still - to encourage educators to draw near to Him, seek Him daily, and bring Him into every space of their lives.
